چکیده

This study aimed to investigate variations in the root canal morphology of maxillary second premolar (MSP) teeth using microcomputed tomography (micro-CT). Sixty (N = 60) human extracted MSPs were collected and prepared for micro-CT scanning. The duration scanning a single sample ranged between 30 40 min three-dimensional (3-D) image was obtained all MSPs. images evaluated by observer who recorded type, number roots, orifices, apical foramina(s), delta(s), accessory canals. configuration categorized agreement with Vertucci’s classification, any not classification reported as an “additional configuration”. Descriptive statistics (such mean percentages) calculated SPSS software. most common types agreeing (in order highest lowest incidence) I, III, V, VII, II, VI. also exhibited four additional configurations that different from classification: 2-3, 1-2-3, 2-1-2-1, 1-2-1-3. A found 96.7% majority samples demonstrated two canals (73.3%). Further, 80% showed one orifice. foramina’s variable, 56.7% having solitary foramen. 33.3%, delta only 20% samples. Variable detected our study. prevalent type 1; however, results revealed some types.

Endodontic Retreatment of a Maxillary First Molar with Unusual Palatal Root Canal Morphology: A Case Report

Introdouction: Variations in root canal morphology pose a challenge for successful endodontic treatment. The root canal anatomy of the maxillary first molar has been often described as three roots with four canals (two mesiobuccal, one distobuccal, and one palatal). The occurrence of two palatal canals in one palatal root is quite rare. This report represents the case of a maxillary first molar...

Evaluation of Root Canal Morphology and Root Apex Anatomy of Mandibular Premolars in an Iranian Population: an ex-vivo study

Objectives Adequate knowledge about canal anatomy is necessary for clinicians to prevent any damage to the periodontium. The aim of this study was to evaluate the canal and apical complexities of the mandibular first and second premolars in an Iranian population. Methods One-hundred mandibular first (n=50) and second (n=50) premolars were collected. After access cavity preparation, 2% methylen...

Root canal morphology of the mesiobuccal root of maxillary first molars: a micro-computed tomographic analysis.

AIM To investigate ex vivo, the root canal morphology of the MB root of maxillary first molar teeth by means of micro-computed tomography. METHODOLOGY Thirty extracted intact human maxillary first molar teeth were selected for micro-tomographic analysis (SkyScan 1072, Aartselaar, Belgium) with a slice thickness of 38.0 mum. The following data regarding the MB root were analysed and recorded: ...
